Evan Studer - Executive Vice President

Evan Studer

Evan joined SHM in October, 1996 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and in November 1999 was named to his current position. With over 30 years of experience in the Hotel and Hospitality Industries, Evan has served in nearly every property-level position and has supervised the opening of countless hotels.

Formerly the Regional Vice President of Operations and Sales/Marketing for Vista Host, a Houston-based hotel management company, Studer began his career with Winegardner & Hammons, Inc., a hotel franchisee and operating company and earned a B.S. degree in mathematics from Eastern Kentucky University.

John Elston - Executive Vice President

John Elston

Since 2000, John has had direct responsibility for the Sales & Marketing efforts at SHM. With 28 years of experience in the hotel industry he has earned the reputation as a creative outside the lines entrepreneur. John has a proven track record for delivering results and outperforming his competitors. John's vision and competitive spirit have allowed him to formulate winning business plans and accomplish goals.

David J. Kreizinger, CPA - Vice President, Hotel Accounting

David J. Kreizinger

David has over 16 years experience in public accounting and private industry. David earned his CPA while with Ernst & Young in Orange County, California, and has been with Sunstone since 2005. David has a breadth of industry experience in addition to hospitality, including retail, manufacturing, software, and telecommunications. David earned his BA in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Jill Johnson, SPHR - Vice President, Human Resources

Jill Johnson

Jill's career in the hospitality industry began over 25 years ago. After a number of years in hotel operations, Jill moved into Human Resources at the field level, gradually working into a corporate position. After spending the bulk of her career with Hilton Hotels Corporation in a variety of corporate positions, Jill joined Sunstone in 2005. Jill earned her ABA from Occidental College in Los Angeles.

Robert Resurgent - Vice President, Revenue Management

With 25 years experience in the hospitality industry, Robert has successful direct field experience in significant markets and landmark hotels that include all-suite, business, luxury (including 2-5 diamond hotels), resort, and major convention properties. Robert joined SHM in 2001 and has been guiding revenue management at the corporate level for the past five years. Robert has an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Robert is also certified by Cornell University in their Hotel Real Estate, Development, and Investment Program.

Mikii Rathmann - Vice President, Brand Marketing

Mikii Rathmann

Mikii began her hospitality career 18 years ago with Red Lion Hotels in Sacramento California. With the change in ownership of Red Lion Mikii enjoyed new brand experiences with Doubletree Hotels, Embassy Suites, and Hampton Inns. Mikii joined the SHM team in 1997, expanding her reach to include 18 major hotel brands including Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton. In addition to leading SHM's marketing efforts, Mikii oversees owner relations, P.R. and corporate events. Mikii earned her BA in Organizational Communication Studies from CSU Sacramento.

SHM provides dedicated regional teams to guide each hotel in achieving the highest potential revenues and profits through efficient and educated use of SHM's resources. Both operations and sales & marketing teams assist in strategizing and implementing both short and long term hotel revenue goals, providing leadership and direction in penetrating all market segments through multiple revenue channels. "Regionals" also offer guidance and hands-on assistance with team training, staffing, deployment and career development, maintaining brand standards, working through capital requests, budgets, data interpretation and analysis, identifying new prospects, and day-to-day management techniques.
